Angela Chong (b. 1977) is an installation artist who has developed herself through light, sound and narrative installations in recent projects. A graduate from RMIT Bachelor of arts, Fine Arts (Honors), her works have been exhibited in festivals such as the CESTA Sense of Fear Festival in 2006 in the Czech Republic and 100 Points of Light as part of the Next Wave Festival 2006 in Melbourne. Having been awarded the NAC Local Bursary (2003) and the Georgette Chen Scholarship (2001), Angela continues to contribute to the arts as a lecturer at Lasalle-SIA and a conservation assistant at the National Archives of Singapore.

As an installation artist, Angela’s influences vary from literature to music and from poetry to films. She thus has a keen interest in creating a narrative in her installation works that blur the line between fiction and ‘reality’. In outlining her perspective on art, Gustave Flaubert comes to mind with his words: “Reveal art, conceal the artist.”
