ART PROGRAMMES FOR PUBLIC AND SCHOOLS

1. ART SPEAK (Artist Talk)

This programme allows the artist to discuss all that is related to his/her art – inspiration, practice, form, and medium – giving the students an insider perspective of Contemporary Art practices of Young Artists in Singapore. This artist talk can be conducted in an assembly hall, gallery, class room or conference room.

2. MONO-DUOLOGUES (Artist Talk and Workshop)

This programme is essentially a 1-session artist talk followed by 5 sessions of workshop activities with the artist. During these 5 sessions participants will learn the artist’s methodologies. The number of sessions conducted can exceed 6, depending on request. *Workshop is customisable to varied sessions)

2.1 Recyclable – Workshop deals with awareness of recyclable materials used in making art works that are eco-friendly, easy to make and provide students with challenges in working with daily materials that are otherwise ignored.

2.2 Ceramics – Workshop provides basic to intermediate levels of pottery-making, sculpturing, relief and decorative art.

2.3 Painting – Workshops provides basic to intermediate levels of brush techniques, stretching of canvas, colour mixing/matching, concept development of subject matter and ideas involved with painting and sketching.

2.4 Illustration/Design – Workshops provides basic to intermediate levels of Digital Illustration, traditional illustration techniques, colour mixing/matching, concept development of subject matter and ideas involved with digital illustration/principles of design.

2.5 Wire Sculpting – Workshop provides basic to intermediate levels of creating sculptural works via the use of simple tools and light weight wires.

2.6 Photography – Workshops provides basic to intermediate levels of handling of cameras photography composition, lighting and concept development of subject matter and ideas involved in film and digital photography.

2.7 Printmaking – Workshops provides basic to immediate levels of printmaking, eg; etching, relief printing, woodcut, silk-screening and concept development of images.

2.8 Collage – Workshops provides basic to immediate levels of mixed medium techniques and methods of collage installation to concept development of images.

2.9 Bookmaking – Workshops provides basic to immediate levels of bookmaking; paper making, book binding to illustrations/text for concept development of subject matter.

3. MATCH-UP! (Combined Artists Workshop)

This workshop is a 3 sessions workshop with 1 artist and another 3 sessions with a different artist concluding an exploration of 2 art techniques allowing the participant to collaborate and explore creating his/her own ideas and techniques ranging from 2D to 3D courses.

4. WIPE IN WIPE OUT (Mural Painting)

This programme enables participants to learn painting techniques; stencilling, masking, dry-brush, rollers, spray painting etc, from the artist and employ them in creating paintings on specified walls within the premises. Participants will be guided by the artist throughout the project.

5. BE AN APPRENTICE! (Artist Attachment/Artist Mentorship)

This programme allows the Junior College art elective student to a 1 on 1 experiential learning environment with an artist in a similar medium to the student’s own A-level project.

Terms and Conditions:

Upon acceptance of programme, there will not be any alterations or changes to the programme unless agreed by both parties. Company/School should confirm time schedule before commencement for period of art programme. School to inform SCYA of any unscheduled time changes 1 week before commencement of class.

Artist/s selected will be committing to projects during the entire length of its duration. Should Artist fail to deliver

course, fee will not be given. Artist/s will meet 2 weeks before commencement of programme for briefing and sourcing of materials. Materials will be provided by the School or SCYA where deemed necessary.
