Chan Shiuan
Graphic Design, Illustration
Under the alias: Evaporation is itchy, Shiuan is a cheeky artist wanna-be whose real job is nothing close to anything artistic. A flight attendant by day, she longs to belong in the artistic industry.

Having graduated from Temasek Design School in 2008, majoring in illustration, her works have been introduced in the Noise Singapore showcase and was featured in the school’s graduating showcase in the illustration category. She recently had the opportunity to exhibit one of her piece at Mary Chia Showcase, under SCYA.

Since then, the 24 year-old have been using freelance projects as an umbilical attachment to the artistic field. Head-hunted by the company to provide long-term freelance graphic and design work, she had the chance to have her works displayed and used for public spaces within the corporation and worked with various aspects of design and illustration, slowly working towards perhaps a fraction of a satisfied artist.

Planning to eventually quit her day job to fully concentrate on the paramount passion in her life, she is striving towards studying in an art institute to further cultivate her skills and eye for illustrating and discover her niche.

But first, she plans to grow a smart looking Dali moustache.

The desire to express and present what I think and feel is the main fuel for my passion to illustrate. It is most stifling when an idea is not communicated across with precision and it is my ultimate aspiration to convey visually, what I feel and have to say.
Doing art gives me the utmost sense of satisfaction and productivity, that I simply cannot find elsewhere. Getting a piece of work exactly as I want it to turn out, or occasionally even better, is like nothing in this world!
