Kelvin Atmadibrata
Multimedia Art, Site-Specific/Multidisciplinary
Kelvin Atmadibrata (b. 1988) is a Jakarta-born artist currently based in Singapore. He is pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Nanyang Technological University School of Arts, Design and Media and has developed a repertoire that includes drawings, mixed media, installation and performance. At the same time, Kelvin is interested in the research of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) behavior in relation to popular culture which he develops in his works. This is attained through his long-term initiative called rainbowartsproject (RAP), which is focused on LGBT-related art in forms of exhibitions, documentations, research and collection.

Kelvin sees art as a theoretical form of visual creation in which the process and research of artmaking become more important than the formal qualities of the works. By creating installation and performance pieces, he is able to explore art as a documentation and study of the subjects that he works on. As an extension, he is also particularly interested in creating characters and landscapes which mimic the uncanny attributes found in RPG video games, hence transforming art-making into a realization of personal fantasy.
