Ong Xiao Yun graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (fine arts) from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2008 and a Diploma of Fine Arts from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. The content of her installations are mostly deduced from the the site, materials, and working methods she uses. She is interested in exploring the possibilities that underlie the materiality of different mediums, and how they can both challenge her methodologies, introduces or dislocate different meanings that culminate to her works. Her inspirations come from the synergy of communication across a wide spectrum of the society, mainly within the theme of history, identity and space(environment). She is curently exploring on the complex means of memories. She has participated in group exhibitions in Singapore, Penang, Seoul, Brisbane and Chicago. She is also the co-founder of Artists Caravan, an independent arts collective, in 2008.
